If you’re a parent and working from home it can take time to strike a balance between working and home life.

Seperating yourself from your role as a parent and juggling everything that comes with it takes some skill and can be achieved by setting realistic goals and boundaries for yourself, getting out of the house for a walk and looking after your well-being.

  1. Make sure to take regular breaks away from the computer screen.
  2. Get organised with your work schedule and plan in meetings and deadlines.
  3. Give yourself flexibility about when and how long you work for. Take care of yourself and your family.
  4. Don’t put pressure on yourself to get everything done at once. Take things one step at a time.
  5. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from a work colleague if you are struggling.
  6. Know when to switch off from work and make sure to engage in some self-care.
  7. Stay active throughout the day. Get up and walk around each hour.
  8. Create a comfortable work space that is conducive for learning.
  9. Minimise distractions by setting clear boundaries.
