With families spending much more time in the household together and in some cases – adapting to working from home, it’s normal for some parents to feel a bit out of sync as we adapt to these new changes. Its now more important to focus on your well-being and check in with how you are feeling.

  1. Stay in regular contact with friends and family. Positive relationships can help boost mood and reduce stress.
  2. Take care of your physical health. Eat a well balanced diet and get into a good sleep pattern.
  3. Try and find time to engage in some activities that provide you with a sense of pleasure and achievement.
  4. Stay organised and on top of things. Develop a routine that you and your family can work towards.
  5. Work with your family as a team to support and help each other.
  6. Don’t put pressure on yourself to get everything done at once. Take things one step at a time.
  7. If you are struggling don’t be afraid to talk to someone about how you are feeling (e.g. a friend, your doctor, a local mental health charity).
  8. Try and stay physically active. Exercise is a great way to reduce stress and improve your mood.
