Dr. Duncan Simpson serves as an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Undergraduate Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology Program at Barry University, FL. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Masters degree in Exercise Science from Leeds Beckett University in the UK, and his Ph.D in Sport Studies (specializing in Sport Psychology) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Dr. Simpson is an active researcher and writer in the field of sport and performance psychology. As a result he has published his research in numerous national and international peer-reviewed journals including: The Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, The Sport Psychologist, The Journal of Excellence, The Journal of Humanistic Psychology, Journal of Clinical Sport Psychology, The Journal of Traumatic Stress, and Journal of Imagery Research in Sport and Physical Activity.

In addition to his research activities Dr. Simpson is a Certified Consultant with the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (CC-AASP). Since 2005 he has been conducting mental skills training with athletes and coaches from a range of sports and varying in talent and ability (from beginners to professional/Olympic athletes, including NCAA D-I, II, & III student-athletes). As such, he has designed and implemented mental skills training programs in a variety of contexts and evaluated their efficacy.

A former collegiate soccer and tennis player, Dr. Simpson is also a marathon runner, and an avid golfer.
